We were sitting inside the Kevin Says Stage fencing hiding from the sun. Behind this stage was The Word Alive ripping apart another stage, I had just returned from the pit after snapping some photos of them. We were waiting for our friends in Shut Up and Deal to hit the stage as the last Kevin Says band of the day. The tent and merch had already been taken back to the bus and we were just relaxing; enjoying the moment. Nothing mattered in this moment: not the fact that just a few short days before we had been strangers, or the fact that we were thousands of miles from home. All that mattered was that we were out on the road enjoying what we loved. If there is one thing in life that I actually truly miss; it’s being on the road. So many kids say they want to work in the music industry, that they want to go on tour. But I know for me it’s more than a want; it’s a need. I desire the open road more than anything and would do anything to be back out on the road.</p> <p>I miss tour. </p> </blockquote> <p>^This post is relevant right now because as happy and excited as I am for what I will be doing this summer. There’s a huge part of me that is extremely sad that I will not be embarking out on the Vans Warped Tour for my third year. I’m so excited to be living in Virginia this summer, working for Red Light Management and for Bonnaroo… but theres a special place in my heart where Warped Tour lies…and I will miss not being out on the road with them. There’s just something about living in a bus, waking up in a new city everday that holds my heart. Let’s embrace the beauty of the world and the mystery of the future. Let’s explore ourselves and our surroundings. Let’s make mistakes and make them again to only make more mistakes in the future. We shall learn from everything and nothing at the same time. We need to let the wind take us down a new path and let the waves wash us away to a new place. If we don’t live we are wasting the most precious thing we have. We can’t make things perfect, but we can make the best out of what we have.
